Studio Powered by Solstice
This year Studio will be returning to its original format at Solstice, with smaller, intentionally formed groups and a variety of programme times throughout the week.
The Studio at Solstice offers small, supportive after-school groups for children and teens ages 5–17.
Developed by psychologists with expertise in child development, our groups give young people opportunities to build confidence, develop new skills, connect with others and support their emotional wellbeing - all while doing something they enjoy.
From LEGO® challenges and STEAM projects to surf, expressive art, chess and book club, each Studio group combines engaging activities with opportunities for connection, communication and growth.
The Studio is open to students from all schools across Bermuda.
Our goal is to bring together children and youth who can connect well with one another and benefit from the skills, activities and support being offered within their particular group.
As places are limited, we encourage you to enroll your child as soon as possible: Welcome to The Studio 2026-2027 - Powered by Solstice – Fill out form

Tuesday | Studio Build
LEGO® challenges that build teamwork, problem-solving and social skills
Studio Build uses LEGO®-based activities to bring together children of similar ages and developmental stages to build, problem-solve and work together.
Children take on different roles as they work towards a shared LEGO® build, creating a natural and engaging way to practise communication, cooperation, turn-taking and social interaction.
The structure takes some of the pressure out of socialising - LEGO® provides a shared focus and a reason to interact - making Studio Build suitable for both neurodivergent and neurotypical children.
As places are limited, we encourage you to enroll your child as soon as possible: Welcome to The Studio 2026-2027 - Powered by Solstice – Fill out form
Wednesday | Studio Move
Studio Move brings together movement, creativity and connection to support confidence, wellbeing and resilience
Learning and practising new skills in and around the ocean can support confidence and resilience, while movement and connection with others provide positive, screen-free opportunities for young people to support their physical and emotional wellbeing.

Thursday | Studio Create
Through weekly Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) projects, children are encouraged to explore, experiment, explain, create and problem-solve together.
Groups are formed with developmental fit in mind, giving children opportunities to build curiosity, creativity, resilience, teamwork and problem-solving skills while tackling engaging projects with their peers

Friday | Studio Social
Chess · Book Club
Finish the week with a screen-free opportunity to meet new people, discover shared interests and build confidence.
Chess
From learning how the pieces move to developing tactics and challenging peers, our chess group gives young people the chance to progress from curious beginners to increasingly confident players.
Along the way, they can strengthen executive functioning skills, develop mastery and build both individual and social confidence.
Book Club
Our Book Club uses stories as a starting point for connection.
Children can discover shared interests, develop friendships and practise communication and thinking skills through reading, talking about books and exploring stories together.
While reading skills may develop along the way, the primary focus is on social and emotional growth and connection.
As places are limited, we encourage you to enroll your child as soon as possible: Welcome to The Studio 2026-2027 - Powered by Solstice – Fill out form

Caregiver Support Initiative for World Alzheimer’s Month
In recognition of World Alzheimer’s Month, the Ministry of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, in partnership with Solstice, has launched a Caregiver Support Initiative to provide individual supportive counselling and drop-in support groups at no out-of-pocket cost to eligible individuals caring for a family member or loved one living with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia.
Individual Support for Caregivers
Eligible caregivers can access confidential, one-to-one supportive counselling with qualified Solstice clinicians. Sessions will provide a safe space to talk about their experiences, receive emotional support, explore changing family roles and relationships, develop practical coping strategies and focus on their own wellbeing.
Recognising the demands placed on caregivers, appointments will be offered flexibly, including online, during lunchtime breaks, after work and on Saturdays. The cost of eligible individual sessions will be met through applicable health insurance and funding provided by the Ministry, meaning eligible caregivers will have no out-of-pocket cost.
Free Drop-In Caregiver Support Groups
The Caregiver Support Initiative will also offer drop-in caregiver support groups at no cost to participants. Solstice will also provide eight drop-in caregiver support groups at no cost to participants during the initiative.
The groups will provide a welcoming and supportive space for caregivers to connect with others who understand the experience of caring for someone living with dementia, share experiences, receive emotional support and discuss strategies for maintaining their own wellbeing.
The groups are drop-in, so caregivers do not need to commit to attending the full series and are welcome to attend whichever sessions work for them.
Tuesday Afternoon Groups – 1:00 p.m.
September 22 and 29
October 6 and 13
Thursday Evening Groups – 5:30 p.m.
September 24
October 1, 8 and 15
Offering both afternoon and evening sessions is intended to provide greater flexibility for caregivers managing work, family and caregiving responsibilities.
Accessing the Caregiver Support Initiative
Caregivers may access the initiative through self-referral or referral from Ageing & Disability Services or Dementia Bermuda.
Caregivers interested in individual supportive counselling can contact Solstice at 292-3456 or info@solstice.bm for further information and to arrange an appointment.
Caregivers are also welcome to attend the Tuesday 1:00 p.m. or Thursday 5:30 p.m. drop-in support groups, with no requirement to attend every session. Please sign-up if you can in advance: Caregiver Support group Sign Up Form – Fill out form

Neurodiversity Week
Celebrating Neurodiversity Week - March 13- 23
At Solstice, we recognize and celebrate the unique strengths, perspectives, and talents of neurodivergent individuals. Neurodiversity Week is a time to embrace differences, challenge misconceptions, and advocate for greater inclusion and understanding of conditions like ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and more.
What does neurodiversity mean?
It’s the idea that brains work in beautifully different ways—there is no "right" way to think, learn, or process the world. By valuing neurodivergent minds, we create a more inclusive, innovative, and compassionate society.
How can we support neurodiversity?
Encourage strength-based approaches—every brain has its superpowers!
Create inclusive spaces in schools, workplaces, and communities.
Foster understanding and acceptance through education.
Provide mental health and emotional support tailored to individual needs.
This week (and always), let’s celebrate thinking differently and commit to building a world where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported.
Need support or resources? Solstice offers assessments and specialized therapies and support for neurodivergent individuals.
