Kelly Madeiros, MSW, is the Managing Director and Co-Founder of Solstice, Bermuda’s largest private mental health and wellness centre. With more than 25 years of experience in mental health, addictions, and co-occurring disorders, she is a passionate advocate for vulnerable populations and a recognized leader in shaping Bermuda’s mental health landscape.
Kelly trained and worked in Ontario and Alberta, Canada, before returning to Bermuda, where she held positions with the Department of Child and Family Services and the Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute. In 2011, she became the founding Coordinator of the Bermuda Mental Health Treatment Court Programme with the Department of Court Services. She has since co-authored the Bermuda National Policy for People with Disabilities, contributed to legislative reforms to the Mental Health Act, and co-authored Bermuda’s first Mental Health First Aid course.
She is also a certified Tree of Life Facilitator and has introduced this trauma-informed, narrative-based approach to individuals, families, and community groups across Bermuda. Kelly was the first Bermudian selected for the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program on “Disability Rights: Access for All.” More recently, under her leadership, Solstice received the 2024 OUTBermuda Icon Award for Allyship in recognition of its commitment to inclusivity and mental health advocacy.
Beyond her leadership role, Kelly provides individual and group therapy, as well as private social work services to help people navigate government systems and access the benefits and coverage to which they are entitled. In her advocacy and case management work, she supports individuals and families in exploring treatment options for mental health and addiction both on and off the island. She also consults with organizations on mental health issues and has served on the boards of multiple charities and professional associations.
Kelly is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and with the Bermuda Counselors Association. She remains committed to building pathways for Bermudians to pursue clinical training abroad and return home, strengthening Bermuda’s mental health services and ensuring that every member of the community has the opportunity to thrive.
