Dr. Lizzy McManus
CPsychol
Registered Senior Psychologist
Dr. Lizzy McManus is a Bermudian Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She supports children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of emotional and mental health needs—from everyday challenges such as stress, anxiety, and low mood to more complex difficulties, including trauma, school exclusion, and coping struggles that may lead to self-harm, substance use, or risk-taking behaviours. Lizzy works closely with families, schools, and other professionals to provide holistic, trauma-informed care.
Her therapeutic style is warm, relational, and collaborative. She draws on Systemic Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Her practice is strongly informed by attachment theory and developmental perspectives. Lizzy is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), a structured therapy that helps people process and recover from traumatic or distressing experiences. Rather than relying on any single model or overly structured approach, she prefers to follow her clients’ lead, tailoring therapy to their needs and priorities.
As part of her work at the Growing Minds Centre, Lizzy also serves as the lead psychologist for the Saturday Group Programme.
