Clinical & Sport Psychologist

Dr. Hannah King is a Clinical and Sport Psychologist, licensed in both Bermuda and the United States (Massachusetts). She earned her master’s degree in Sport and Military Psychology from the University of Denver and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. She went on to complete a pre-doctoral internship at McLean Hospital through Harvard Medical School, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in trauma psychology as a Harvard Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Currently, Dr. King works full-time at a trauma clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital, supporting Veterans and active-duty service members as a Clinical Psychologist and serving as an Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. She has been a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology since 2021 and is the first Bermudian Sport Psychologist to earn this credential.

Dr. King emphasizes the importance of trauma- and culturally informed care, working collaboratively with clients to connect past and present experiences and foster lasting change. She provides therapeutic support to adolescents and adults, as well as psychological testing services for individuals ages five and up. Her specialties include trauma, depression, anxiety, and grief. Dr. King’s therapeutic style is grounded in psychodynamic and relational approaches, and she completed a fellowship with the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute in 2025. She is also trained in evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness practices. In addition, she is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma, Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD) treatment, and the Unified Protocol (UP).

As a former gymnast on the Bermuda National Team, a collegiate springboard diver, and an avid cyclist, Dr. King has experienced first-hand the importance of developing mental performance skills alongside physical training. She received mentorship from U.S. Olympic Sport Psychologists and completed training at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Driven to strengthen mental health in sport, she has worked with athletes, teams, coaches, and managers across a wide range of sports, including football, swimming, baseball, diving, gymnastics, triathlon, golf, and tennis.
