Dr. Elizabeth Hathaway is a board-certified psychiatrist with particular interests in geriatric psychiatry and psychodynamic psychotherapy. She works collaboratively with patients to support emotional wellbeing, quality of life, and care that reflects each person’s individual goals and values.

Dr. Hathaway received her MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed her psychiatry residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She later completed a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry, where she focused on the mental health needs of older adults, including the behavioural and psychological symptoms associated with dementia.

Prior to joining Solstice, Dr. Hathaway worked on an inpatient geriatric psychiatry unit in the United States and contributed to publications and presentations related to geriatric mental health.

Alongside her work in geriatric psychiatry, Dr. Hathaway has a strong interest in psychodynamic psychotherapy and completed three years of psychodynamic clinical training and supervision during residency. She is currently completing the Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program through the Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute.

Her approach is thoughtful, patient-centred, and grounded in building strong therapeutic relationships over time.
