Dr. Dale Thomas is a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist in Bermuda and the UK. Originally from Wales, Dale is dual qualified allowing him to offer specialist intervention for mental health and well-being but also holds qualifications in Sports Psychology. He combines the theory to provide performance psychology tailored to the individual.
Clinically, Dale specialises in anxiety, fear, and low mood, helping individuals learn about the neurology of the brain and how to use anxiety and fear as positive strength to improve their quality of life. Whether in general life or in elite environments or teams.
Dale has worked in elite and professional sport for the last 7 years, providing performance psychology intervention for international athletes across the UK. Dale has adapted psychological theory to be applied to several high performance environments, supporting individuals working in high pressured positions and corporate businesses as well as medical teams and neurosurgeons.
He has worked across several sports including Rugby, football, golf, cricket, boxing, rowing, volleyball and basketball. Dale has worked with professional rugby players representing; the Welsh Rugby team; British and Ireland Lions; England; Scotland; New Zealand and Australia. Dale also works for TeamGB, recently providing Performance Psychology intervention for the Paris Games.
Dale is passionate about surfing, coastal walks, fishing, and kayaking. Through client request, Dale will provide opportunities for individual and group interventions outside of his office, using the beautiful Bermuda coast as a therapeutic space. Dale utilises a wide range of psychological theory drawn from qualifications in CBT, DBT, EMDR and ACT, applying cognitive theory into behavioural outdoor activation.
